From volunteers who donate their time to staff the AOC’s public exhibition space and programs, through grassroots activities like raffles, market stalls and local events, to epic fundraising journeys across the desert, donations of priceless collection items, gifts of land and of expertise: time and time again we are overwhelmed by the spirit and generosity of others and their passion for this project.

Become an AOC Founder
Our AOC Founders are a very special group of benefactors who are committing funds ranging from $10,000 to $1 million directly towards the construction of the new Australian Opal Centre building. Less than 150 AOC Founders will have the chance to secure their place in history as a patron of this Glenn Murcutt and Wendy Lewin designed architectural icon, and they will be recognised in perpetuity inside the building once completed.

Our Members are the lifeblood of what we do and allow us to develop and operate the Australian Opal Centre through their generosity and support each and every day. There are currently more than 800 members in many countries around the world. We offer four different types of membership - Ordinary, Business, Sponsor and Life.

Become an AOC Volunteer
You have star quality – and we want you to shine in our amazing showroom as an AOC Volunteer! Our Volunteers assist the running of the Australian Opal Centre in many ways including meeting and greeting visitors from all over the world in our showroom, helping to man fundraising stalls at the Lightning Ridge Easter and Opal Festivals, and much more.

Make a donation
Since starting the Australian Opal Centre, we have enjoyed some absolutely amazing donations from generous contributors from all over the globe - including large funding contributions, complete opal-related book collections to rare, and beautiful cultural and natural treasures.
