Architects: Glenn Murcutt and Wendy Lewin
Glenn Murcutt is Australia's most internationally-celebrated architect. In addition to a host of Australian prizes, Glenn is the only Australian to have received the Alvar Aalto Medal, the Thomas Jefferson Medal in Architecture and architecture's greatest honour, the Pritzker Prize (referred to as the 'Nobel Prize for Architecture'), awarded for "Talent, vision and commitment - and a consistent and significant contribution to humanity and the built environment." In spite of his extraordinary achievements, Murcutt's oeuvre is dominated by relatively small works; the world awaits a demonstration of his genius in a major public building.
