Lynne Jenkins
Director
Lynne Jenkins
Lynne Jenkins has served on the AOCL Board since 2023. Both as a Director and Company Secretary, she brings strong organisational capability and a deep commitment to realising the community’s vision for a centre dedicated to opals, fossils, scientific research, and the sharing of knowledge.
Lynne became keenly interested in the work of the Australian Opal Centre while participating in the AOC’s 2019 Lightning Ridge Fossil Dig, an experience that led to her ongoing involvement with the organisation.
Following her retirement from a career in radiography in the United Kingdom and Australia, Lynne began photographing opalised fossils in the AOC collection. She undertook specialist training for this role, purchased and donated photographic equipment, and has dedicated many months to this meticulous work.
Lynne brings extensive experience and skills in human resources management, gained through her career as a healthcare professional and advocate working in large, diverse workplaces as well as experience as the secretary of a volunteer organisation.
Lynne is also an AOC Life Member and Founder, and a volunteer team leader on the Lightning Ridge Fossil Dig.
